Second Edition of Bharat Ko Janiye Quiz 2018 – 19

          It is informed that Ministry of External Affairs will be organizing the second edition of “Bharat Ko Janiye” (BKJ) quiz with an aim to motivate overseas Indian youth to develop interest to know and understand our home country, India. The quiz will be held for two distinct categories of participants – NRI (Non Residents of India and  PIOs (People of Indian Origin) separately. The quiz will be organized in 4 rounds. 
          The first round of quiz will be organized online at CGI portal, www.cgijeddah.com. There will be 30 questions which are to be answered in a single online session of 25 minutes. Top three finalists from each category of NRI and PIO will be awarded, who will given away medals like Gold, Silver and Bronze.  
Second round of the Quiz: The top three contenders / participants of the 1st round Quiz from each category of NRI and PIO will qualify for the second round (online), which will be conducted by the Ministry in New Delhi. The second online will  have 60 questions to be answered ina single session of 60 minutes, which will be held in August, 2018 on the  “Bharat Ko Janiye” (BKJ) website, www. Bharatkojaniye.in.
The third and fourth rounds of the Quiz(semi final and final round) will be conducted in India by the Ministry in New Delhi. Top three candidates will be selected to participate in the final fourth round. Winners and runners up from each category of NRI and PIO will be decided on the basis of scores obtained in the final round. The venue for the 3rd and 4th rounds will be posted on BKJ website.
          All participants, who are invited for the onsite quiz (3rd and 4th round) would attend a workshop in New Delhi and participate in the Bharat ko Janiye yatra, a 15 day tour of India including Lakshadweep. After the yatra, final round will be held in New Delhi and top 3 winners will be awarded medals at the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention 2019. All expenditures / on boarding / lodging would be borne by the Government of India.
          The quiz will be open for overseas Indian youths between the age of 18 and 35 years. All Indian nationals and People of Indian Origin residing in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are encouraged to participate in this quiz, in big numbers.
Online Registration mandatory:
It is mandatory for the candidate to complete online registration at portal www.bharatkojaniye.in in order to participate in the online/offline Quiz to be conducted by the Missions/Posts (first round). Participant is required to generate a unique user name and password by registering online at the portal. Following fields need to be submitted for registration:

The Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India, has invited nominations for Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award (PBSA) 2019, which is conferred on a Non-Resident Indian or Person of Indian Origin or an organization/institution established and run by Non-Resident Indians/Persons of Indian Origin, who has made significant contribution in any one of the following fields :
(a)  Better understanding abroad of India;
(b)  Support to India’s causes and concerns in a tangible way;
(c)  Building closer links between India, the overseas Indian community and their country of residence;
(d)  Social and humanitarian causes in India or abroad;
(e)  Welfare of the local Indian community;
(f)   Philanthropic and charitable work;
(g)  Eminence in one’s field or outstanding work, which has enhanced India’s prestige in the country of residence;
(h)  Eminence in skills which has enhanced India’s prestige in that country (for non-professional workers).
